Ain't takin' the bait
I've just had a wonderful laugh and thank you to the blogger who provided it. I won't elaborate because it's too complicated to get into but it's one of those things where you shake your head so much you have to laugh.
Anyway to carry on...what have I been doing lately? Preparing for a Super Bowl party? Nah, although I will be cheering on the Steelers. I have a wonderful friend who started as a pen pal in Pittsburgh and naturally I have to support her home team. I've known Mary for 27 years, amazing isn't it? We've been to eachother's weddings and she even trekked it up to Hamilton for Kazuo's baby shower. Other than that I met my gorgeous 20 week pregnant friend - Carol for a much belated duo birthday dinner last Tuesday. We went to Cafe Limoncello here in town. YUM! Wonderful pasta, salad and bruschetta. Mmmm. I didn't order dessert even though it was very tempting. I decided on eating every bit of the Linguine Pesto with Chicken so I didn't have room for dessert. Next time. Carol and I are meeting up again this Monday for a free 2 hour beginner's scrapbooking workshop. We've been attempting to get this scrapbooking project (i.e. baby books) going for a year now. Time, lack of brilliant ideas and money seems to always get in the way. We're both hoping this class will give us some great ideas and inspiration to get off our arses and get a move on this project before baby 2 comes for Carol and before our current kids are heading into year 3 of their lives which is fast approaching. Ah for the love of procrastination, what can I say. LOL.
My little Mod - Kazuo has been progressing quickly in his life. He is a walking or rather running ball of energy! He is also talking up a storm and is starting to put 2 to 3 words together in a sentence. It is amazing to watch this little being's progression. It seems to come out of the blue and I have to admit when this happens I'm just floored and speechless. He has a wonderful sense of humour and just loves to laugh. He doesn't even mind being laughed at, in fact he seems to understand he has just done something humourous. He loves to be read to and as for music well....that goes without saying. He of course has his moments but what child at 21 months doesn't. Patience is a good assest to have right now and even though I've never had experience raising a child until he came along it's as though my own natural instinct takes over. That's another part of life I'm amazed about. Humans can adapt so quickly to something that has been with us since we were born it just awakens at the right time. He's been a blessing and has given me strength when I needed it the most. I would do anything for my special little boy. When life throws people at you who haven't got any clue as to what life really is all about all is forgotten when you turn and see a sweet innocent face. All is well again and nothing else matters.
As for the rest of February I have five birthdays to celebrate all nicely scattered evenly through the month, thank goodness. So bring on the birthday dinners and cake! Good thing I joined Curves back in October, what a life saver!
Have a Happy Super Bowl weekend folks!
